Broga Hill and Stone Temple
I have been told about Broga Hill(???) and Stone Temple (???) and they are near to University of Nottingham @ Semenyih, so I did some goggling and then I saw Broga and the temple in a few blogs. These are nice places in Malaysia and how ignorant I can be of their existence. I will like to go there but then I will need to know their locations and so I googled for a location map of UoN. I will need to study further the map and I will go there someday. As Lao Tzu quoted : "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."

Office gossips
It all began when I was working in the Production Office of this factory where it has another office called the Main Office. These two offices were often commented and rated as a 3-star and 5-star offices respectively. So when attires are concerned, well you guess it right ,of course the 5-star staffs dressed well and with many wanting to outdo each other with brands and pricing in their clothes. Ok! Ok! Forget about the dressing now coming back to my story on gossips and none can beat gossips from this 5-star office.
You see, I have known this close friend of mine, my ex-colleague in this 5-star office, for about like over 20 years. She is a single parent and she is strong, positive and beautiful and I always respect her and I will call her “Friend”. Then one fine day when “Friend’s” colleague (I will call her Ms. X) was on maternity leave and “Friend” was upgraded the gossips started. “Friend” was rumored to have an affair with Ms. X’s husband, who was also working in the same office and I will call him Mr.X. Friend and Mr.X were always needed to attend meetings with other production staffs in the 3-star office chaired by the Factory Manager, my boss. I was always in these meetings taking the minutes of the meeting and when the meetings ended all would go back to their respective workstations.
It was on my break that I went to the 5-star office’s pantry to fill up the thermos with hot water. The tea-lady, she was really the worst of the lot. She asked me if I had seen “Friend” and Mr. X being chummy-chummy in the Production Office after the meeting was over. I was shocked at her such straight-forward question and false accusation and I blurted “WHO SAID SO!” She said everyone in the office knew that “Friend” and Mr. X were very good (she said that with a sneering manner) and it would not be a surprise since “Friend” was single. I told her I never for once had seen any intimate acts between them and that was the truth and I just walked off. By the way, I forgot about my thermos and when I walked back to get it oh boy! the tea-lady was at one of the staff desk whispering to her ears and when they both saw me they looked at me with the most scornful look. So each time I went to the Main Office to look for “Friend” the rest of scandalmongers would stare at me like an outcast. It did not matter and I believed my Friend”. I did ask my “Friend” one day if she was having an affair with Mr.X and that if ever I found out that “Friend” was lying I would never ever to talk to her again, ever. “Friend” said no and it was my choice to believe her or not. I chose to believe her and so as days passed by Ms. X returned to work. One fine day Ms. X came and talked to me and said she was upset. I asked her if she was upset over the gossips she heard about her husband and “Friend”. I told her that knowing “Friend” her husband would not be “Friend’s” choice. I mean Mr.X is a skinny and frail-looking man who has those “sepet” eyes with glasses and also a braggart. And frankly I told her that I would not have a second glance at her husband and my two cents worth for her - just ignored those entire gossips. I think maybe she had made a wise decision to ignore and the gossips died and “Friend” and Ms. X were friends again. Instead now Ms. X used to confide in “Friend” over her personal matters. I asked “Friend” how she maintained such calmness with all those malicious gossips about her. She practised Buddhism and she said that the truth will prevail and indeed the truth was someone jealous of “Friend” being promoted spread these malicious gossips.
The End.

My first try at blogging
My first day in blogging. Oh boy! What am I going to write! Ideas??? Any ideas??? ( scratching my head, pulling my hair) Ok! I have got it. How about talking about C-lai (homemaker or housewife in Cantonese). Most C-lais gossip and so do I (though I am not a C-lai) and I believe all other people do too. Please don't leave the men out . They do gossip too. I mean you hear gossips everywhere - in the market, in the public transport, in the toilet, in the office and anywhere you can think of, even in a funeral parlor!. Some gossips are lighthearted and some are damaging but if we do gossip please keep to the minimal of not being destructive to anyone.
Coming back to C-lais. C-lais are good source of information what goes around the neighborhood. You will know how a person passed on and whose house got burglarised and how much (though not accurate), who gave birth and on and on. So C-lais are not so bad as some may imagine. I will be a C-lai one day too but not so soon as I still need to work for the money.
Well that will be all for today's post. Maybe I will come back tomorrow with a more interesting topic? We will see.
